President and Treasurer of Alpha Theta Psi, Alexis Alford, tells me that her sisterhood was founded on the pillars of female empowerment and creating strong bonds within their sorority, campus, and community. Alpha Theta Psi contributes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation as part of their philanthropy work. The sorority organized their very own Bra Pong fundraiser and donated the proceeds to their philanthropy after a successful event.

President Alexis describes some of her sorority’s greatest achievements as their diversity and inclusion of women from all races and backgrounds, as well as their success in their 4 years as an active chapter. Alpha Theta Psi sits on the Newark Greek Council and has made lasting relationships and connections with all other sects of their community’s Greek life. These connections allow for the chapter to continue to expand and flourish, with the hopes of becoming active on other campuses and universities.

What the ladies of Alpha Theta Psi want others to know about their local Greek organization is that it is just as great as any other fraternity or sorority. The chapter delivers the same message of unity and friendship that any other national organization would, and they continue to promote that connection through their close knit sisterhood. The sisters of Alpha Theta Psi believe that the best aspect of their organization is their opportunity for growth. With the support of their first 4 successful years behind them, they have hopes to continue to grow and share their message of sisterhood, acceptance, friendship, and philanthropy with other members of the Greek community and future sisters as well.
